The world’s third-biggest oil consumer is India. India’s oil imports in 2017 surged to a record 4.2 million barrel per day or 1568 million barrel per year. It is $ 78400 million dollors per year. If a dollar increase per barrel in prices on a permanent basis would increase the bill by roughly Rs:10,000 crore on an annual basis assuming no change in exchange rate. Further, import bill would increase by approximately $ 1.5 billion for every dollar increase in crude oil price.
These imports are every year’s recurring heavy burden on the Country people. And also expected to increase 15% to 20 % every year.
A Senior Vice President at research and ratings agency ICRA said that – International crude oil prices in the first six months (2017) averaged above $50 per barrel leading to the country’s gross import bill rising to $43 billion. Keeping in mind geo-political events and the current trends, if we anticipate crude oil prices to be in the range of $60 per barrel, the country’s oil import bill may reach around $85-90 billion i.e., Rs:58,33,12,50,00,000/- to Rs:61,75,35,00,00,000/- for the full financial year 2017-2018.

A Rickshaw originally denoted a three or more – wheeled passenger/goods transport cart. And now known as a pulled rickshaw, which is generally pulled by one man carrying the passengers or goods. Human and animal powered – pulled or dragged bi, tri or multi wheeled rickshaws are the inexpensive mode of transportation across the world. Generally a rickshaw runner covers 10 to 48 kilometres in a day, at an average travelling speed of 8 kilometres per hour. In many cities they were widely banned. Because International, National, business politics and departmental corruption are widely involved in this. We are depending maximum on the imports of the petroleum and various vehicles for transportation, and also on all related pollution controlling inventions or practices which creates induced expenditures and health problems, and unstability in country.

Promoting the usage and better integrating the Cycle Rickshaw into the people is the best way for getting various types of good results in the country. In cities and larger towns, the reserved cycle rickshaw lanes on the road should be developed and proper traffic rules should be educated to the people to get stream lined traffic flow of all vehicle on the roads. Parking place in the cities on entire adjacent of the roads will solve the parking problems of all vehicles except in the junctions of the roads. This will minimize the police involvement.
Rickshaws provide the most efficient way to move people or goods to a short and medium distances. For such travels, walking, cycling, and rickshaws are very appropriate, as they waste no fuel, create no air or noise pollution, and they take very little time. The best transport for women, small children and the elderly is rickshaws. This benefits not only the pullers, but their families as a whole in the country.
Cycle Rickshaws are losing the public and government favour as they are planned for associating the backwardness and are deemed to reinforce the growing rural-urban migration. The cycle rickshaws continue to have a poor public image. Many feel guilty for owning or hiring rickshaw due to the manual labour involved in pulling.
